Senior Software Engineer, Ministry of Law

About the role You will oversee technical strategy and product delivery for software squads serving the Ministry of Law. Your work focuses on building digital tools for intellectual property management, ensuring high-quality outcomes for businesses and citizens. Key facts • Location: Singapore • Engagement: 2-year fixed term contract • Team: Ministry of Law What you'll do • Set the technical vision and long-term roadmap for your engineering team. • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage product delivery schedules and priorities. • Mentor developers, provide performance feedback, and support their professional development. • Implement strategies for system security, reliability, and code quality. • Manage production incidents and provide L3 support. • Translate technical requirements for non-technical partners, including UX designers and Product Managers. • Lead recruitment efforts for senior technical roles. • Introduce engineering practices that improve team output and culture. Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience building and maintaining large-scale, high-availability systems. • Proven track record of leading and coaching software development teams. • Mastery of Agile and Scrum frameworks, including managing vendor deliverables. • Experience with production incident management and system reliability. • Strong background in AWS cloud services and full-stack development. • Proficiency in Next.js or React.js for front-end and Java or TypeScript for back-end. • Experience with low-code development, specifically OutSystems architecture and lifecycle management. • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Nice to have • Experience working within government or regulated environments. • Familiarity with integrating systems with Whole of Government platforms or existing GovTech products.
