Senior Full Stack Software Developer

Outsourcing Advantage is a boutique business process outsourcing provider specializing in back-office and customer support services for US-based companies. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Software Developer to take ownership of an existing AI-generated bookkeeping software platform and drive it through completion. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-sufficient, solution-oriented developer who can independently assess, troubleshoot, improve, and deliver a complex software product with minimal direction. The ideal candidate has strong full stack development expertise, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and proven experience taking software projects from planning to production. This is a temporary remote position expected to last approximately 8 months . Key Responsibilities • Take full ownership of an existing bookkeeping software platform • Analyze the current system architecture, codebase, and business logic • Identify technical, functional, and financial data integrity issues • Design and implement scalable solutions to improve system performance, reliability, and usability • Independently prioritize development tasks and drive projects with minimal supervision • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Ensure accounting workflows, financial calculations, reports, and outputs are accurate and reliable • Debug, refactor, optimize, and enhance the existing codebase • Create and maintain technical documentation when necessary • Conduct comprehensive testing and validation to ensure software quality and financial data accuracy • Deliver the platform to a production-ready state Requirements • 6-7+ years of professional experience in full stack software development • Proven experience owning software projects from planning through deployment • Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping workflows, and financial reporting • Experience inheriting, reviewing, and improving existing software applications • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Strong communication and project management skills • Strong experience with Docker deployment in development and production environments Preferred Qualifications & Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have: • Experience developing or maintaining accounting, bookkeeping, ERP, or financial software platforms • Experience reviewing and improving AI-generated codebases • Experience performing software audits, financial reporting, data validation, and reconciliation processes • Ability to establish technical direction and make sound architectural decisions • Experience working with and optimizing existing or legacy software applications • A portfolio, GitHub repository, or examples of completed software projects is an advantage • The ability to quickly understand and work within an unfamiliar codebase • The ability to thrive in situations where requirements or documentation are incomplete • A proactive mindset with the initiative to take full ownership of projects with minimal supervision • A strong understanding of both software engineering and accounting principles • The ability to identify expected system behavior, implement effective solutions, and validate financial outputs for accuracy • A proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects from development through production • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail • A commitment to building reliable, scalable, and production-ready software solutions • Availability to work with significant overlap during Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours Technical Requirements Strong experience with: • TypeScript • Quickbooks • React • Vite • Tailwind CSS • Node.js • Express.js • PostgreSQL • Drizzle ORM Benefits • Competitive salary • Opportunity to work on an innovative accounting software platform • Supportive and collaborative work environment • Weekly payments • Weekends off • Growth opportunities
