Agency Adult Correction Division COO - OPS - Institutions Operations Job Classification Title Administrative Associate II (S) Position Number 60058738 Grade NC02 About Us The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! Description of Work Reporting directly to a Correctional Housing Unit Manager at a multi-custody female correctional facility, this position is characterized by performing a variety of administrative, clerical, and office support duties. Job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Requiring knowledge of the work unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Department of Adult Correction (DAC) Policies and Procedures. 2. Requiring a high level of confidentiality and working independently as well as in a team. 3. Requiring a high degree of understanding of general office practices and procedures along with the ability to relate well with other staff, agencies and the general public. 4. Being responsible for correspondence, record management, filing and database management. 5. Processing incoming and outgoing mail. 6. Maintaining a calendar of periodic reports, activities and meetings. 7. Contacting facility staff for meetings and dispersing information to appropriate personnel. 8. Meeting deadlines of projects. 9. Composing emails, copying, and filing documents. 10. Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and preparing documents and reports. 11. Compiling records and organizing and maintaining files. 12. Performing all other special projects and duties as needed and as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the Minimum Education and Experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required but applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: • Documented working knowledge of word processing or spreadsheet programs. Salary Range : $31,200 - $51,249 This posting will close at 11:59 p.m. the night BEFORE the end date listed above. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business needs. About Anson Correctional Institution Anson Correctional Institution houses female offenders in medium and close custody housing units. Anson CI offers a wide variety of educational, vocational, and training programs. Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson, a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE). Family and friends can order a package of goods from a pre-approved shopping list to send to an offender. Orders are packaged by offenders and shipped quarterly.
