VP, Operations - EMEA at Dlocal. About the role You will direct the strategic and partnership operations for Dlocal across the EMEA region. This role focuses on enabling local payment processing for international merchants while managing regional P&L and regulatory compliance. Key facts Location: Cape Town, South Africa; Lagos, Nigeria; or Nairobi, Kenya Engagement: Full Time What you'll do • Partner with senior leadership to design and execute regional country strategies. • Lead business development efforts, including pricing optimization, cost management, and closing strategic partnership deals. • Represent the firm in regulatory discussions, industry events, and with media influencers. • Negotiate commercial agreements to expand payment method capabilities. • Coordinate with product, technology, and operations teams to integrate partnerships and improve performance. • Monitor local regulatory landscapes, including AML, KYC, and licensing requirements. • Manage regional P&L, including forecasting, revenue targets, and cost control. • Oversee the operations team and develop contingency plans for system or banking disruptions. • Maintain relationships with banks, acquirers, and processors. Requirements • Proven experience in cross-border payments or financial systems within the EMEA region. • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage personnel. • Significant history of negotiating and finalizing commercial contracts. • Deep understanding of the EMEA regulatory environment and compliance standards. • Established professional network within the relevant industry. • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment across multiple time zones. • Strategic thinking skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
