Job Description
Location: Tuas
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.45pm
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience
Transport Allowance: Provided
Annual Leave: 14 days + 1 additional day per completed year
About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations within an Oil & Gas equipment manufacturing environment. This role oversees both strategic and operational functions, ensuring high-quality output, continuous improvement, and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the Engineering Department in the design and manufacturing of products and systems
• Drive improvements in product design and production processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess feasibility, specifications, and cost-effectiveness
• Oversee product specifications and ensure accuracy of engineering drawings prior to production
• Communicate with customers on project status, technical reviews, and product evaluations
• Support production and quality teams in resolving technical issues and product-related matters
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality standards, and workplace organization practices (e.g. 5S)
• Establish and monitor departmental KPIs aligned with organizational goals
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Total Quality Management
Requirements
• Minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Industrial or Materials Science)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering role within Oil & Gas industry; experience in Oil & Gas equipment manufacturing is advantageous
• Minimum 2 year of experience in leading or supervising engineering teams
• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, Pro-E) and ability to interpret technical drawings
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities
