Role Overview
Warehouse Operator is responsible for the proper disposal and recycling of information technology (IT) equipment that has reached the end of its useful life. The role involves handling electronic waste (e-waste) in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting sustainable practices. The IT Recycle Operator plays a crucial role in reducing the environmental impact of discarded IT assets and supporting the organization's commitment to responsible recycling.
Warehouse Operator will work across a multitude of departments in our production facilities. Operators will be efficient and reliable in processing, organising and packing of assets.
Your Responsibilities
•
Be responsible for the quality assurance of their own work.
•
Works under routine supervision, either individually or in a team environment.
•
Being able to lift to 15kg.
•
Complete necessary training materials, a directed by the business.
•
Follow all reasonable directions of the Team Leader.
•
Maintain accurate records and inventory of all disposed assets.
•
Some of the daily work activities include receiving, sorting, testing, warehousing, data destruction, and de-manufacturing.
•
General tasks associated with the receiving and dispatch of assets.
•
Able to maintain records or reports in accordance with company procedures.
•
Operators will rotate and work across a multitude of departments in our production facilities and be efficient and reliable in processing, organising and packing of assets.
•
Perform data sanitization and secure data destruction processes on all retired IT assets to prevent data breaches and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
•
Safely and responsibly handle the dismantling and disposal of electronic components following proper procedures.
•
Conduct accurate testing and assessment of returned assets to determine their potential for refurbishment or reuse as per the guidelines.
•
Conduct Inventory Stock Take activities.
•
May be directed to perform other duties consistent with training and skill levels required for this position.
•
Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring data security throughout the ITAD process
•
Where an operator has the necessary licences, training and ability, an operator may be required to operate machinery as directed by their line manager.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
•
Experience in Warehousing.
•
A valid forklift licence is a PLUS but not required.
•
Effective communication skills.
•
Basic admin/data entry capability.
•
Understanding of IT hardware components and familiarity with various types of electronic devices.
•
Physical fitness to handle and move electronic equipment.
•
Ability to operate recycling machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
•
Strong attention to detail to ensure proper sorting and disposal of e-waste.
