About the Company Our client is a well-established Building Services consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering quality engineering solutions across a broad range of sectors. With a growing pipeline of work, they're looking to add a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to the Sydney team. You'll join an experienced multidisciplinary business where collaboration is encouraged, and engineers are trusted to take ownership of their projects. The business works across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, mixed-use and government projects, offering plenty of variety and long-term career progression. About the Role This is a genuine Senior Engineer position where you'll take ownership of projects from concept through to completion while working closely with clients, architects and the wider design team. You'll be responsible for: • Designing wet and dry fire protection systems across a range of building projects • Developing concepts, detailed designs and technical documentation • Hydraulic calculations and system sizing • Producing specifications, reports and design drawings • Coordinating with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and structural engineers • Attending client meetings and site inspections • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers where required • Managing projects through the full design lifecycle This role offers a good balance of technical design, client interaction and project responsibility without being overly management focused. Skills & Experience We're keen to speak with engineers who have: • 5+ years' experience in Fire Protection design within a Building Services consultancy • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the NCC • Experience designing sprinkler, hydrant and hose reel systems • Experience delivering projects from concept through to construction • Good communication and stakeholder management skills • A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor junior engineers • Relevant Engineering qualification Culture This is a business that gives engineers plenty of autonomy while providing support when it's needed.
