Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on and driven Finance Manager to oversee finance operations, strengthen financial controls, and support business growth through insightful financial analysis and process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, driving operational efficiency, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization to support strategic objectives. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys balancing operational responsibilities with transformation and continuous improvement projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Operations & Reporting
• Oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accounting records, reconciliations, and financial transactions are processed accurately and on a timely basis.
• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and payment transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
• Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities, including variance analysis, management reporting, and balance sheet reviews.
• Prepare and review financial reports and business performance analysis to support management decision-making. Business Partnering
• Collaborate closely with business and operational teams to assess financial implications of business activities, resolve issues, and drive operational effectiveness.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business initiatives and strategic planning. Governance, Controls & Compliance
• Maintain a strong control environment by ensuring adherence to financial governance, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance reviews by providing accurate and timely financial information.
• Identify control gaps and implement improvements to strengthen financial processes and risk management. Process Improvement & Finance Transformation
• Drive initiatives to improve finance processes, enhance controls, and increase efficiency through automation and process optimization.
• Participate in finance transformation projects, including workflow redesign, system enhancements, data analytics, and automation initiatives.
• Leverage technology and digital tools to reduce manual processes and improve reporting capabilities. Team Leadership
• Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Review team deliverables and provide guidance to maintain high standards of accuracy and professionalism. Requirements:Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably within financial services, brokerage, banking, fintech, or other regulated industries.
• Previous experience in team supervision or people management is preferred. Technical Competencies
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, internal controls, and financial governance.
• Experience managing financial close processes and supporting audits.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
• Exposure to automation, data analytics, RPA tools, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, or similar technologies will be advantageous. Personal Attributes
