Job Description

Work within a well established, growing Accountancy firm in the heart of Reading. You will be responsible for your own client portfolio (predominately SME client base) and belong to a big team. Client Details Our Client • Growing firm, with a strong payroll bureau offering • Base in Reading, offering predominately remote working • Highly acquisitive and high growth firm Description Payroll Associate • Manage a portfolio of payroll bureau clients, acting as a trusted point of contact and delivering a professional, client-focused service. • Process end-to-end payrolls, ensuring all PAYE-related activities are completed accurately and in line with HMRC legislation, including statutory payments, starters and leavers, pension contributions, attachment of earnings, and year-end processing. • Administer workplace pension schemes and ensure deductions and submissions are processed correctly. Experience with public sector pension schemes such as Teachers' Pension Scheme or NHS Pension Scheme would be advantageous. • Stay up to date with payroll legislation and provide guidance to clients on HMRC updates, compliance requirements, and payroll best practice. • Resolve payroll-related queries from employees, clients, and HMRC efficiently, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships at all levels. • Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, and enhance payroll processes to drive efficiency and service excellence. • Support the onboarding of new clients, working closely with implementation teams to deliver smooth transitions, including payroll parallel runs and testing activities. • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and helping to continuously improve the payroll service offering. Profile The successful Payroll Associate... • Previous payroll bureau/accountancy firm experience is a must! • Delivering accurate, compliant payrolls every cycle. • Building strong, lasting relationships with clients. • Providing expert payroll guidance and exceptional customer service. • Taking ownership of your workload and managing multiple priorities effectively. • Actively contributing to process improvements and operational excellence. • Happy to come to the office (2x per month) Job Offer Payroll Associate • Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) • Remote working with typically 2x per month in the office (Reading) • 30 days annual leave • Private Medical • Private Dental • Easily accessible via public transport
