Job Description
Business Analyst – ERP Systems
Location: Northlake, IL (On-Site)
A well-established, privately-held mechanical contracting company in the Chicago area is looking for a Business Analyst to take ownership of their ERP system. This company has been in business for nearly 90 years and is one of the largest full-service mechanical contractors in the region, serving hospitals, data centers, schools, and other major institutional clients.
The Business Analyst acts as the go-to person between the accounting/operations side of the business and corporate IT. You'd support and troubleshoot the ERP system, maintain master data, document processes, and train end users — a chance to own a system end-to-end rather than sit in a large help desk queue.
Compensation: $65,000–$90,000, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, onsite
Responsibilities:
• Provide system support by troubleshooting issues, resolving data errors, and assisting with workflow questions
• Maintain user accounts, permissions, and security roles
• Maintain and validate master data (projects, cost codes, vendors, employees) to ensure accuracy
• Document workflows, SOPs, and system configurations; recommend process improvements
• Create training materials and reference guides, and provide ERP training for end users
• Serve as the first point of contact for ERP-related questions
• Assist with testing new modules/features and system upgrades, and participate in implementations
• Provide system data, logs, and documentation for internal requests and compliance recordkeeping
Requirements:
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with an ERP system (any industry considered; construction-industry ERP background — Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, or similar — a strong plus)
• Demonstrated experience translating business needs into system fixes, configuration changes, or reports
• Experience documenting workflows/SOPs or building training materials for end users
