Job Description

We are partnering with a well-established organisation in the marine and offshore engineering sector to identify an experienced Marine Electrical Engineer . This role is responsible for the design, review, integration, and commissioning of electrical systems for vessel newbuild and marine engineering projects, ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities

Review and develop electrical engineering designs in accordance with project specifications, applicable regulations, and Classification Society requirements.

Prepare, review, and maintain engineering documentation, including single-line diagrams, electrical load analysis, power distribution systems, cable schedules, termination drawings, and testing procedures.

Support the engineering and integration of shipboard electrical systems, including power generation and distribution, switchboards, motor control systems, propulsion support, alarm and monitoring systems, fire detection, navigation, communication, and other vessel electrical equipment.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, equipment manufacturers, and system vendors to ensure successful integration of electrical and automation systems.

Participate in system design reviews, factory acceptance tests (FAT), harbour acceptance tests (HAT), sea trials, and commissioning activities where required. Perform engineering calculations related to cable sizing, protection coordination, circuit protection, and equipment selection.

Assist in resolving technical issues throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases of projects. Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules and quality requirements.

Provide technical support to project teams and liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies when required.
