Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) Mining Capital Projects | Sustaining Capital | Mining/Resource Sector Location: Booragoon with Site Travel (SOR) Rate: $100 to 130 p/hr Plus Super (Dependent on Experience) Contract Duration: 12 Months with strong possible extensions thereafter Chandler Macleod is partnering with a leading global resources organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to deliver a portfolio of mining capital projects , sustaining capital works and infrastructure upgrades across a large-scale operational environment. This opportunity is ideally suited to a Mechanical Engineer with experience delivering brownfield capital projects , mining infrastructure projects , materials handling upgrades , water infrastructure projects and multidisciplinary engineering packages from concept through to commissioning. Chandler Macleod is a leading global workforce solutions provider, delivering recruitment, consulting, and outsourcing services across multiple industries. #wegetpeople About the Role As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, including: • Project scoping and definition • Business case development and capital approval submissions • Engineering design and design management • Procurement and contractor management • Construction and commissioning activities • Cost, schedule and risk management • Stakeholder engagement across operations, maintenance and project teams • Project closeout and handover You will work across a diverse portfolio of projects involving both process plant and non-process infrastructure (NPI) assets. Key Responsibilities • Deliver mechanical engineering and capital projects safely, on time and within budget • Develop scopes of work, technical specifications and project execution plans • Coordinate engineering consultants, contractors and vendors • Lead project meetings, risk reviews and contractor interfaces • Support shutdown planning and execution activities • Manage project budgets, forecasts and schedules • Ensure compliance with site standards, Australian Standards and engineering best practice • Drive project outcomes through all project phases from concept, feasibility and design through to construction and commissioning About You To be successful, you will have: Essential • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering • Experience delivering capital projects within mining, resources, heavy industry or minerals processing environments • Demonstrated experience managing projects through design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases • Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills • Experience working within brownfield operating environments • Strong commercial, risk management and project controls capability Highly Regarded Experience with any of the following: • Bulk materials handling systems • Conveyors, crushers, feeders and transfer stations • Water infrastructure projects • Pumping systems and pipelines • Mechanical plant upgrades • Fuel, utilities and non-process infrastructure projects • Port, rail or mining infrastructure • Owner's team, EPCM or client-side project delivery • Sustaining capital project portfolios Why Apply? • Join a recognised leader within the resources sector • Diverse portfolio of mining and infrastructure projects • Strong pipeline of sustaining capital and expansion projects • Collaborative engineering and project delivery environment • Competitive salary package At Chandler Macleod, we are committed to fostering a diverse workforce where everyone is welcome.
