Job Description
Overview
At BBA, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our passionate team and contribute to designing resilient, innovative infrastructure across the mining, energy, and natural resources sectors.
Type of position: Régulier
Responsibilities
• Lead complex structural engineering mandates across the mining, energy, and natural resources sectors
• Oversee structural design and analysis for facilities, industrial structures, and infrastructure in remote and challenging environments
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors
• Contribute to proposal preparation and business development initiatives
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is an asset)
• Minimum 15 years of relevant structural engineering experience
• Significant experience leading projects in the mining, hydroelectric, and energy sectors
• P.Eng. designation in British Columbia or eligibility for registration
• Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with Canadian building codes and standards (NBCC, CSA S16, AISC)
• Strong understanding of site execution and construction-phase support
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
• Experience contributing to technical proposals and business development efforts
