HVAC Central Plant Operator

• Total Remuneration Package up to $102,973
• Salary range $89,070 to $90,962 + penalties
Established in 1871, the Art
Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the
Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery
acknowledges the original custodians of this land – the Gadigal people.
The Art Gallery attracts around 2
million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with
over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.
With our expanded campus the Art Gallery has
a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved
building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Art
Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family,
learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

About the Role
Support the Art Gallery’s facilities operations through the maintenance of mechanical plant equipment and engineering services at all Art Gallery sites.

What Technical/Soft Skills you require
• Refrigeration and air conditioning Trades Indentured Apprenticeship Certificate or equivalent with at demonstrated substantial experience. Open Class Steam Boiler and Refrigeration Engine Drivers Certificates preferred.
• Proven knowledge and experience in operating a computerised building management system.
• Knowledge and understanding of Australian Standards and regulations pertaining to the HVAC environment.
• Ability to work a rotating roster at various locations requiring weekend and public holiday shifts and be available for out of hours consultation and attendance in the event of fire or major mechanical breakdowns.
• Extensive knowledge of experience in operation and maintenance of a large air conditioning system and conversant in the operation of large chillers and steam boilers.
• Sound communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Hold a current NSW driver’s license
