This role is suited to an early-career engineer who already has 1.5 to 2 years of hands-on commercial experience developing backend applications with Node.js and TypeScript and is ready to take the next step in their career. How you'll be part of the action Reporting to the Software Engineering Lead, you'll help build and support backend technology that keeps critical gaming platforms running smoothly. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll contribute to both system reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. • Build and maintain backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript • Troubleshoot production issues across live technology environments • Support and enhance application programming interfaces and services • Collaborate with engineers during agile delivery activities • Improve system performance and technical reliability • Contribute to modern engineering and automation practices What you'll need to succeed You enjoy solving problems, learning quickly and working in a collaborative environment. We'd love to hear from you if you bring a strong backend foundation, proven commercial experience with Node.js, and a genuine appetite for growth. • Minimum 1.5 to 2 years of hands-on commercial experience developing backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript • Proven experience building, supporting and troubleshooting production APIs and backend services in a commercial environment • Strong capability troubleshooting complex technical issues • Ability to manage changing priorities and competing demands • Experienced in database concepts and structured query language • Interest in cloud, containerisation and modern development tools Please note, this role requires commercial Node.js experience. Experience gained solely through university studies, personal projects, bootcamps or training courses will not meet the requirements of the position.
