Marine Superintendent

Roles & Responsibilities The Assistant Marine Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of assigned vessels and maintaining compliance with all applicable international maritime regulations and industry standards.

The role supports the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS), while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, environmental protection, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include: Ensure vessels comply with all statutory, flag state, class, port state, and company requirements, including the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), and other relevant maritime regulations.

Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS). Conduct scheduled and unscheduled vessel inspections, internal audits, and compliance verification activities both onboard and ashore.

Perform pre-vetting inspections and coordinate follow-up actions with vessel crews, oil majors, charterers, owners, and other stakeholders. Monitor vessel compliance with the Company's Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality (HSSEQ) management system.

Review reports, identify non-conformities, determine root causes, and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Support the Company's risk management framework through risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous monitoring of operational risks.

Provide professional guidance and technical support to Masters and vessel officers on navigational, safety, operational, and regulatory matters. Coordinate and monitor Planned Maintenance System (PMS), repair works, dry-docking, and maintenance activities to ensure vessel reliability and regulatory compliance.
