Applications Architect – Intermediate (Onsite | Ontario Public Service) Job Title Applications Architect – Intermediate Location 21 College Street - Ontario, Canada ( Onsite ) Client - Justice Technology Services Work Schedule: 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks), subject to Hiring Manager requirements. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Applications Architect with a minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise application architecture, cloud solution design, and architecture governance. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing scalable cloud-based application solutions, producing enterprise architecture artifacts, supporting Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes, and ensuring adherence to Ontario Public Service (OPS) architecture standards and best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise architecture frameworks, solution architecture, cloud technologies, application integration, security architecture, and architecture governance for large-scale enterprise initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Design enterprise application solutions for cloud and SaaS platforms. • Develop logical and detailed technical solution designs. • Produce enterprise architecture documentation, including: • Business Architecture Documents (BAD) • Solution Architecture Documents (SAD) • Solution Requirements Documents (SRD) • Information Architecture Documents (IAD) Develop application architecture artifacts required for Enterprise Architecture checkpoints and Architecture Review Board (ARB) approvals. Create use case diagrams, workflow diagrams, business process models, and architecture documentation. Design logical and physical data models, data dictionaries, and CRUD matrices. Define application integration approaches, APIs, communication protocols, and interfaces with external partners. Lead architecture governance activities throughout project delivery. Review security, privacy, and compliance assessments and incorporate findings into architecture deliverables. Prepare traceability matrices for requirements, security, privacy, and testing. Participate in JAD sessions, architecture workshops, and stakeholder meetings. Support application development, testing, UAT, deployment, and production implementation. Assist Database Administrators with metadata, test data, and implementation packages. Prepare onboarding documentation and participate in knowledge transfer activities. Ensure compliance with Ontario Public Service architecture standards and governance processes. Required Qualifications • Minimum 10 years of Applications Architecture or Solution Architecture experience. • Extensive experience designing enterprise applications using structured development methodologies. • Strong experience designing cloud-based and SaaS application solutions. • Experience leading architecture activities for large-scale enterprise IT projects. • Experience preparing enterprise architecture artifacts. • Experience participating in Architecture Review Boards (ARB). • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and presentation skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
