Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to support the development and enhancement of a government digital platform serving the Muslim community.
You will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services and APIs that power citizen-facing web and mobile applications, working closely with frontend engineers, mobile developers, product managers, and DevSecOps teams in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Node.
js, API development, cloud-native applications, and government technology standards.
Working Hours
Mon-Fri Working Location: Central Salary Package: Up to $11,000 (basic)+ AWS Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node. js. Develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs for web and mobile applications.
Integrate with internal and external systems, including authentication, payment, and government digital services. Implement integrations with platforms such as Singpass, SearchSG, MUIS Halal System, Quran. com, and other third-party services as required.
Design and develop containerised microservices using Docker and AWS ECS/EKS. Optimise application performance, scalability, and reliability. Design and manage relational databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
Collaborate with frontend, mobile, QA, DevSecOps, and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Conduct code reviews, implement automated testing, and support CI/CD pipelines. Ensure applications comply with government security standards, application security best practices, and IM8 requirements.
Support production deployments, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in backend or full stack software development. Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript. Experience developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services. Experience integrating external APIs a
