About the Role  Our Risk and Investigations practice, as part of the broader Forensic Litigation & Consulting segment, conducts sophisticated research and investigations, uncovers actionable intelligence and performs value-added analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, remediate compliance, and make informed decisions regarding their investments.  Our experts conduct independent investigations to help clients resolve a variety of issues, including:  • Due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border transactions   • Transactional intelligence  • Market entry and competitor intelligence  • Corporate investigations, including fraud and misconduct investigations   • Anti-bribery and foreign corruption (FCPA / UK Bribery Act) investigations and risk assessments   • Asset searching  • Political risk assessments  What You’ll Do  Reporting to the Senior Managing Director and based in either Sydney or Melbourne, your responsibilities will include:   • Research and analysis of information from public-domain sources and field inquiries to support due diligence assignments, business intelligence projects and other types of investigations  • Evaluation of information and information sources for accuracy, reliability and relevance in assessing risk • Contribute to the provision of advice on how to mitigate risk • Creation of research reports, presentations and where needed link charts or similar diagrams to record investigative actions and findings  • Proactive identification of new sources of information, and research tools and approaches as well as managing of these resources to achieve high quality and cost-effectiveness  How you’ll Grow  This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking to build a career as a forensic investigations/intelligence expert. This unique role is not offered by many competitors and will allow you to utilise your inquisitive mind and apply it to complex problems.  You will gain exposure to our wide-ranging client base, including lawyers, corporates, government regulators, and banks. You will have the opportunity to learn directly from senior management in the team and work on large multi-jurisdictional engagements around the world.  What You Will Need to Succeed • A keen interest in research and due diligence work  • Experience in conducting research and/or investigation work • Broad professional experience, including prior international work experience or international travel or experience working as part of a global dispersed team would be advantageous • Demonstrated resourceful and a self-starter, with experience of operating in fast paced and dynamic operational settings  • Excellent English language writing skill  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or higher • 2 - 4 years’ experience in a similar position would be an advantage • This role may require travel to client and FTI offices Our Benefits Apart from the well-structured career path and excellent team environment, our employees enjoy a variety of perks and benefits. Compensation Minimum Pay:$88,000.00 Maximum Pay:$107,000.00 Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role and is inclusive of Superannuation. Determination of actual salary is based on a combination of relevant factors such as market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience and qualifications.
