Job Description
Quality Staffing Specialists are currently seeking skilled Registered Nurses to work within the hospital in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit. Acutely ill medical- surgical and orthopedic patients. 41 bed unit. Average Daily Census: 34. Patient ratio 1:5/6.
Required Skills/Experience: Must have 2 years of recent MedSurg/Telemetry experience Patient Diagnoses: Acute ill Medical-Surgical and Orthopedic patients.
Acute/Chronic respiratory illness, Post-op general surgery, Post-op general GYN surgery, Post-op total knee/hip replacements, Orthopedics, Acute and chronic pain, active GI bleeding, CHF/Pulmonary edema, Diabetes, Renal failure, Drug overdose, patients with a Clinical Institute Withdrawal (CIWA) sore, Arrhythmia, and Radioactive therapy, Seizures.
The following IV medication drips may be administered on the unit: Heparin and TNA Cardiac Monitoring/Emergency Response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, and Telemetry - remote monitoring. IV Therapy/Phlebotomy: Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, and Starting/Maintaining IVs.
