Position Summary: The Advanced Practitioner-Psychiatric Mental Health NP will be responsible for providing medical services in collaboration with a licensed physician. Psychiatric Mental Health NP is a member of a treatment team, which may consist of staff with a variety of mental health, education, or medical backgrounds. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plans and delivers clinical services that include: Document patients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes. Evaluate patients' behavior to formulate diagnoses or assess treatments. Analyze patient data to determine patient needs or treatment goals. Write prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by state regulations and collaborative practice agreements with experience and understanding of chemical dependency treatment. Monitor patients' medication usage and results. Monitor patient progress or responses to treatment. The NP must practice in accordance with the rules adopted by the Ohio Board of Nursing, the Revised Code, and SBHI policies and procedures. The Advanced Practitioner will document patient histories, perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and perform existing patient assessments as needed.
