Job Description
Applied Materials is establishing the Service Technologies Lab (STL) in Singapore to develop, prototype, and mature robotic and cobot‑enabled service solutions for future service operations. The Robotics Engineer (NCG) is an entry‑level engineering role intended for high‑potential graduates with practical robotics exposure. The role supports senior robotics, systems engineers and technicians through hands‑on development, integration, testing, and documentation of real robotic systems. This position is ideal for candidates with strong academic foundations, meaningful project or internship experience, and a clear motivation to grow into a disciplined, well‑rounded robotics engineer working at the intersection of software, hardware, and systems integration. This role is designed to: Enable faster and higher‑quality execution by senior robotics engineers Enable strong habits around engineering discipline, documentation, and testing early in the STL. Develop practical skills across robotics software, mechatronics, and system integration Provide a clear growth path toward robotics applications or systems engineering roles This is not a research‑only role and not limited to simulation environments. Key Responsibilities Support development and integration of robotic and cobot systems under guidance from senior engineers. Assist with robot bring‑up, calibration, basic programming, and commissioning activities. Contribute to portions of system engineering specifications, interface definitions, and test documentation. Execute structured tests and experiments; clearly document results, observations, and issues. Identify and help troubleshoot engineering problems related to robot behavior, integration, or usability. Software‑Oriented Robotics Support Candidates with a stronger software background will: Assist with development and debugging of robotics software using Python and/or C++. Work hands‑on with either ROS including nodes, topics, TF, and basic system integration or supp
