Accounts Assistant About Tru7 Group Tru7 Group is a growing and diverse business operating across multiple sectors including plant hire, demolition, earthworks, transport, recycling, and specialist contracting services. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our remote finance team based in South Africa. The Role The Accounts Assistant will support the wider finance team with day-to-day accounting and administrative functions, helping to ensure the smooth running of the accounts receivable and finance operations across the Group. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Support/Administration Process new customer account applications and perform credit checks. Create and maintain customer records within Sage. Generate credit intelligence reports and monitor customer account status. Process customer refunds through banking platforms and accounting systems. Maintain accurate customer account information and supporting documentation. Issue copy invoices, statements, and supporting documentation to customers. Assist with credit control activities and follow up outstanding debts. Record customer communications, notes, and account updates within Sage. Generate weekly aged debt and credit limit reports. Support dispute resolution and account reconciliations. Finance Administration Post bank account transactions and ensure accurate allocations for supplier, customer and nominal entries for various group companies. Prepare bank reconciliations for various group companies. Monitor finance inboxes and ensure timely responses. Prepare reports for management and finance teams. Maintain finance spreadsheets and internal records. General Duties Support month-end processes. Assist colleagues across the finance function as required. Ensure compliance with company procedures and financial controls. Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies. Skills & Experience Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar finance role. Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferred Reliable fibre internet connection and dedicated home office Experience working in UK hours Previous experience with UK accounting systems and VAT processes Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Confident communicator with strong written English. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Office 365. Experience using Sage software would be advantageous.
