Job Description: Head Chef (Yunnan Cuisine) We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef specializing in authentic Yunnan cuisine to lead our kitchen team at our restaurant in the Farrer Park area. If you have a deep mastery of the complex flavors, unique ingredients, and traditional techniques that define Yunnanese cooking—and possess the leadership skills to manage a dynamic kitchen—we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Menu Development & Execution: Design and execute an authentic Yunnan menu, ensuring consistent quality and presentation. Maintain the "flavor profile" that defines our restaurant’s reputation. Kitchen Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise the kitchen staff. Foster a disciplined, high-performance environment while maintaining clear communication. Quality Control: Maintain high standards for ingredient sourcing, preparation, and plating. Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations. Operations Management: Manage food costs, inventory levels, and kitchen waste to maximize margins without compromising quality. Innovation: Collaborate with management to develop seasonal promotions and special events (such as our "Super Monday" campaigns) to drive customer engagement. Qualifications Proven professional experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef, with specialized expertise in Yunnan cuisine. In-depth knowledge of Yunnanese ingredients (e.g., wild mushrooms, cured meats, fresh herbs) and regional cooking methods (steaming, stir-frying, cross-bridge techniques). Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage staff and work efficiently within a structured, performance-oriented business model.
