Quality Staffing Specialists are currently seeking skilled Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) to work in the hospital for PICU/NICU patients. You will be working with NICU, Critical Care Pediatrics, Pediatrics , as well as the Emergency Department. This is an 80-bed Level 4 NICU, a 20 Bed Level 1 PICU, and a 20-bed Cardiac ICU that is the #2 program in the country by volume. Therapist-driven protocols are in all ICU spaces, and agency staff are treated as full-fledged members of our team. Candidates will need to have strong NICU and PICU experience as a baseline. Cardiac experience is preferred. Required Skills/Experience: Must have 2 years of recent experience in NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics, along with the Emergency Department. Must have Level IV NICU experience, no exceptions Must have experience with high-frequency jet ventilators, oscillating ventilators, and pediatric cardiac anomalies. Work Setting: Emergency Department, NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics. Airway Management Devices/Suctioning: Extubation, Intubation Assist, Nasal airway placement/suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oral/Nasal Suctioning, Sputum specimen collection, and Tracheostomy Care/Management. Care of Patient with: Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Bronchoscopy, and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO. Medication Administration: Albuterol, Atrovent, Bicarbonate, Flovent, Inhaled Flolan, Inhaled steroids, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Tobramycin, and Xopenex. Medication Delivery Systems: Aerosol setup mask/trach, Medihaler, and Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI). Nebulizer: Cold, Hand Held, Heated, T-piece, Trach collar, and Ultrasonic. Oxygen Therapy: High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and Protocol-Driven ECMO. Ventilator Management: CPAP, CPAP, High-frequency jet ventilator/oscillator, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
