This position reports to: Sr. Director - Field Services __ As an Infrared Field Technician, you will evaluate and monitor the condition of clients’ electrical, mechanical, and structural systems using infrared imaging technology. This role may also involve vibration data collection and ultrasound testing across high-voltage electrical systems, compressed air, steam, and mechanical systems. You will support a diverse range of ABB customer facilities, including leading software development companies, big-box distribution centers, and more. This is a remote position requiring frequent travel, up to 60% of the time, including trips of two hours or more from the employee’s home location. Overnight travel should be expected. The ideal candidate should reside within a one-hour commute of Kansas City, KS; Seattle, WA; or Boston, MA. Key Responsibilities Conduct inspections and reporting: Perform infrared and visual inspections of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems; document findings using ABB ’s proprietary tools. Client and contractor coordination: Manage contracted electricians, collaborate with client personnel, and advise on mitigation techniques for identified issues. Ensure compliance and safety: Follow ABB ’s Electrical Safety PPE policy and safely access energized equipment. Administrative and operational tasks: Complete expense reports promptly, maintain reliable attendance, and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of hands-on electrical or mechanical experience. Ability to pass the ABB Level I Thermography course. A strong safety orientation as well as being willing and able to wear up to Category 4 Personal Protective Equipment while on the job. Requires the
