USAJOBS Help Center - How to supply work experience Specialized Experience for the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Demonstrating systems administration on Linux and Windows servers with experience in IT disciplines (such as provisioning routine configuration, installation, vulnerability management, and reconfiguration of database and related products); AND Supporting incident resolution (examples include using service desk ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy, troubleshooting and resolving problems directly and when needed, assisting and providing direction to junior support staff for escalated issues); AND Experience automating IT operational processes, reducing manual intervention and improving overall system efficiency ( examples include Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or scripting languages like Python and PowerShell) Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
