Job Description Industry/ Organization Type: Agricultural Commodities Wholesale Position Title: Sustainability and ESG Lead Working Location: Somerset Working Hours: 5.5 Days (Mon – Fri, 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM; Sat: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM) Salary Package: Basic Salary + AWS + Bonus Duration: Permanent Role Key Responsibilities Develop and implement ESG strategies, policies, and ESMS to ensure compliance with IFC and UN standards. Advise senior management on ESG risks and integrate policies across procurement, operations, logistics, and investments. Lead carbon accounting and manage climate and deforestation risk assessments. Track environmental performance, including wastewater and waste management. Oversee social practices such as labor standards, health & safety, gender equality, and community engagement. Align social practices with frameworks like the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. Manage human rights due diligence and responsible sourcing. Engage with farmers and communities on agricultural best practices and climate resilience. Prepare ESG reports for lenders, DFIs, and investors. Track KPIs, coordinate ESG assessments, and manage responses to monitoring. Oversee due diligence for investments and ensure the implementation of ESAPs and CAPs. Coordinate ESG audits and support climate risk assessments. Provide ESG guidance and training to country teams and promote awareness across functions. Serve as the main ESG contact for investors, auditors, and consultants. Mentor ESG trainees and junior staff. Standardize ESG tools, templates, and materials for regional use. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Social Sciences, International Development, Engineering, or a related field. 4 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or E&S risk management, preferably in multi-country or emerging markets, with strong knowledge of ESG frameworks (e.g., IFC Performance Standards
