Job Description
In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving AND have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: Applying a full range of IT security principles, methods, regulations, policies, products and services sufficient to develop specifications to ensure compliance with security requirements for protection of command and agency systems; and to plan and coordinate the delivery of an IT security awareness training program for end users at all levels within the command. Applying in-depth knowledge and skill in applying advanced cybersecurity concepts, principles, and practices, communications and networks sufficient to serve as a technical authority for complex and difficult assignments impacting state-of-the-art USAF acquisition programs, as well as support the development of cybersecurity policy at the MAJCOM, Air Staff, and other Service levels. Application of broad range of telecommunications equipment, operating techniques, concepts, principles, practices, requirements, methods, sources, and procedures (including familiarity with approaches used by telecommunications organizations in other agencies and/or the private sector) sufficient to manage the Communications Security (COMSEC) program and the Cryptographic Access Program; ability to interpret policy originating from higher organizational levels within the agency; and to analyze and resolve difficult and complex telecommunications security problems.
