We do this while maintaining Akamai's mission at the forefront of what we do: make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day. Partner with the best As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in the Virtualization & Host Platforms (VHP) - Server Enablement & Qualification (SEQ) team, you will be at the forefront of Akamai Cloud compute host and server technologies. VHP is responsible for all Linux platforms from the hardware to the host and guest platforms, and SEQ in particular works closely with next-generation HW teams to enable new hardware via our network bootstrapping service, provide seamless firmware upgrade models, and work with other VHP teams to provide a cohesive and performant solution to our internal infrastructure customers and operators to ensure all servers succeed in our datacenters. You will have opportunities to write software automating our processes, help diagnose and resolve challenging production issues, advance initiatives to improve resource utilization and customer experience, and learn from a highly skilled engineering team. This position will require creative thinking combined with deep domain expertise in the areas of Linux systems engineering, performance tuning, hardware interfaces, systems administration, and configuration management.
