At Wikimedia Deutschland e.V. we help create, collect and distribute free knowledge. In 2004, volunteer Wikipedia activists founded the non-profit association Wikimedia Deutschland in Berlin, which now consists of over 110,000 members and 190 full-time staff. Free knowledge leads to a fairer world. Wikipedia is the most important online knowledge collection of our time. The German Wikipedia alone records almost 1 billion page views per month for a total of 3 million articles. We - Wikimedia Deutschland e. V. - support the volunteers of Wikipedia and its sister projects, develop free software, such as Wikidata, and advocate for free access to knowledge, the opening of education and research, and more common good orientation in data policy. For our Software Engineering Department we are looking for a permanent Partnerships Manager (all genders) , full-time ( 40 hours / week ), ideally starting 01.09.2026 or sooner. This position is designed as a hybrid working model with regular presence in our Berlin office. Tasks The Software Communications team is the bridge between the software development department and the Wikimedia communities for three main programs: Wikidata, Wikibase and Technical Wishes. It is integrated into the development process to provide continual feedback to the department and the communities and manages relationships with Cultural Heritage and Knowledge Institutions, Science and Research Institutions and other partners. You will be part of a team of eight community, partner, communications and advocation specialists and you will act as the first contact person and relationship manager with partners in Wikibase and Wikidata and their projects. You also navigate communication with organisations outside the Wikimedia communities and you promote Wikibase and Wikidata to wide audiences.
