RESPONSIBILITIES As a Community Worker, your role is to identify assets and mobilize them to contribute to or drive community initiatives that proactively address systemic social issues like poverty. Operating from an asset-based framework, you will facilitate and co-create initiatives with community assets and other community stakeholders, ensuring the initiatives are community-owned and sustainable. Facilitating & Co-Creating Community Initiatives: Facilitate discussions with community assets & stakeholders, utilizing collaborative approaches such as Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), with the aim to empower community assets to drive community initiatives. Support in the co-creation of community initiatives by providing inputs and recommendations, such as program consideration and resource allocation. Design and deliver trainings relevant for community initiative implementation for diverse stakeholders, including community assets, volunteers, partners, and internal staff. Community Planning & Research: Conduct needs and asset assessments through detailed environmental scans (e.g., social data collation, surveys, interviews, community mapping, analysis of social trends) to inform strategy. Identify and document formal and informal community assets and resources, utilizing an asset-based framework to drive initiatives.
