Our client is a global MNC that manufactures and supplies specialty coatings, treatments, and chemicals. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Manufacturing Technician (Chemical) to be part of their team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the West. The Manufacturing Technician (Chemical) will be responsible for: Supporting chemical manufacturing operations by carrying out production activities in accordance with established work instructions, quality requirements, and safety standards to ensure efficient and reliable plant operations. Operate and perform various stages of chemical manufacturing processes in accordance with work instructions and established safety procedures. Carry out forklift and stacker operations, where required, to support production and material handling activities. Assist the Production Supervisor in troubleshooting process and product quality issues to ensure smooth manufacturing operations. Perform batch processing activities in a production environment that includes both automated systems and manual operations. Participate in training and, where required, support the company's Emergency Response Team (ERT) in accordance with operational and safety requirements. Maintain compliance with company quality, safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. Job Requirements: NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or an equivalent qualification in Chemical Process Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment is preferred. Knowledge of or experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is an advantage. Possession of a valid forklift driving licence is an advantage. Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and follow established safety procedures. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
