This role is strictly focused on specialized metalwork drafting, engineering fabrication requirements, and architectural integration—going well beyond general architectural modeling. You will manage the entire design lifecycle, moving confidently from conceptual approval drawings to precise manufacturing outputs. The successful candidate must possess extensive technical expertise in Autodesk Advance Steel and be comfortable collaborating with Australian project managers, engineers, and fabricators. JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ARCHITECTURAL METALWORK DRAFTSPERSON (ADVANCE STEEL SPECIALIST) Responsibilities as an Architectural Metalwork Draftsperson (Advance Steel Specialist): 1. Concept & Approval Phase • Translate architectural sketches, scope documents, and site measurements into structural concept drawings. • Create clear design proposals for client and council approval, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards (AS/NZS). • Coordinate adjustments based on feedback from the NSW-based engineering and project management teams. 2. Three-Phase Shop Drawing Production • Upon concept approval, you will execute a strict three-phase drafting workflow: • Phase 1 (General Arrangement): Develop comprehensive 3D General Arrangement (GA) drawings. Map out spatial constraints, accurate site interfaces, and overall structural layouts. • Phase 2 (Cutting & Manufacture): Generate detailed part drawings and accurate cutting files (DXF/NC data).
