Job Description Summary The position is responsible for managing and overseeing all tax and tax‑compliance activities that may impact the University’s tax status or liability. This role ensures the accurate calculation, reporting, reconciliation, and remittance of all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. It also involves interpreting and adhering to relevant Federal, State, and University policies and regulations to maintain full compliance. The position works closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, and Benefits to ensure proper tax treatment of wages, deductions, and benefits for a diverse employee population, including faculty, staff, and student workers. Responsibilities include performing detailed reconciliations to ensure accuracy and supporting quarterly and year‑end processes, including W‑2 reporting, sales and use tax, international taxes, foreign‑source reporting, and unrelated business income taxes. Additionally, the role provides guidance on a variety of tax issues, including executive compensation, endowment spending, Resident FICA claims, and bond compliance. The position also administers the Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) for assigned staff, delivers cross‑departmental training, and supports operational continuity through cross‑training and other duties as needed.
