Position Summary: The CU System Office of Advancement provides excellent customer service, strategy, expertise, and efficiency to our partners on CU’s campuses and at the University of Colorado Foundation. We support CU’s fundraising and engagement goals through advancement operations that include constituent research and development, data management, business intelligence, technical architecture, annual giving, planned giving, marketing and communications, IT, budget and finance, and more. The Data Quality Specialist ensures that data in the donor/alumni database(s) for the Office of Advancement is accurate and up to date, contributing at a fundamental level to the University of Colorado’s fundraising success. This position analyzes, monitors and maintains the accuracy, integrity and quality of the alumni, donor, friend and related records in the donor/alumni database(s) for the Office of Advancement, always recognizing the need for data to be consistent, trusted, and accessible. This position identifies and remedies data integrity issues and errors, maintains a systematic approach to keeping the records accurate, and contributes to data enhancement projects. This position works with other units in Advancement and the university to coordinate data management efforts focused on data quality, data governance, and supporting processes and documentation. This position is a professional level position and will assist senior professional level positions on the team. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Data Management and is exempt for the State of Colorado Classification system. Where You Will Work: Applicants must be Colorado residents or able to relocate to Colorado within a month of starting employment with University of Colorado System Administration. This position can be either hybrid (part work from home, part in-office) or fully in-office. System Advancement’s office is in the uptown neighborhood of Denver. Hybrid workers would make use of hotelled cubicle/office space there, at minimum for occasional team meetings and in-person tasks. The Assistant Director of Data Management is fully remote, and most current members of the Data Management team work the hybrid model, so most team interaction will continue to be virtual. Please note, leadership may adjust in-office work requirements with a minimum of three months' notice before any change can be implemented.
