Job Summary An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer designs, plans, and oversees the installation of core utility systems in buildings, ensuring seamless integration, compliance with safety codes, sustainability targets, and budget adherence. Responsibilities Develop technical specifications, load calculations, and design layouts for HVAC (Mechanical), power distribution and lighting (Electrical), and water/waste networks (Plumbing) to ensure functional building systems Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to prevent system clashes and ensure cohesive project execution Ensure all designs and plans comply with local building codes, fire regulations, and energy standards to maintain safety and regulatory adherence Monitor on-site construction activities to verify subcontractors install MEP systems accurately according to blueprints and safety standards Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of MEP systems to confirm optimal operation and efficiency before project handover Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms and CAD software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to create and review system designs Perform complex calculations including heat load, electrical single-line diagrams, and piping layouts to support accurate system design Apply problem-solving, project management, and cross-team communication skills to resolve technical challenges and drive project progress Preferred competencies and qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering Professional certifications such as the Professional Engineer (PE) license or a PEB-recognized degree in Singapore are highly preferred for senior roles
