Job Summary An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer designs, plans, and oversees the installation of core utility systems in buildings, ensuring seamless integration, compliance with safety codes, sustainability targets, and budget adherence. Responsibilities Develop technical specifications, load calculations, and design layouts for HVAC (Mechanical), power distribution and lighting (Electrical), and water/waste networks (Plumbing) to ensure functional building systems Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to coordinate designs and prevent system clashes for cohesive project delivery Ensure all designs and plans comply with local building codes, fire regulations, and energy standards to maintain safety and regulatory adherence Monitor on-site construction activities to verify subcontractors install MEP systems accurately according to blueprints and safety standards Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of MEP systems to confirm optimal operation and efficiency before project handover Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms and CAD software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to produce and review technical drawings and models Perform complex calculations including heat load analysis, electrical single-line diagrams, and piping layouts to support accurate system design Apply problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges and manage project timelines effectively Communicate clearly across multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth project coordination and execution Preferred competencies and qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering Professional certifications such as the Professional Engineer (PE) license or a PEB-recognized degree in Singapore are highly preferred for senior roles
