Job Summary An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer designs, plans, and oversees the installation of core utility systems to ensure buildings are functional and habitable, integrating systems seamlessly while meeting safety, sustainability, and budget requirements. Responsibilities Develop technical specifications, load calculations, and design layouts for HVAC (Mechanical), power distribution and lighting (Electrical), and water/waste networks (Plumbing) to ensure system functionality and compliance. Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to coordinate designs and prevent system clashes, ensuring cohesive project execution. Ensure all designs and installations comply with local building codes, fire regulations, and energy standards to maintain safety and regulatory adherence. Monitor on-site construction activities to verify subcontractors install MEP systems accurately according to blueprints and safety standards. Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of MEP systems to confirm optimal operation and efficiency before project handover. Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms and CAD software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to develop and review system designs. Perform complex calculations including heat load, electrical single-line diagrams, and piping layouts to support accurate system design and implementation. Apply problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges during design and installation phases. Manage project timelines and communicate effectively across teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Preferred competencies and qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering. Professional certifications such as the Professional Engineer (PE) license or a PEB-recognized degree in Singapore are highly preferred for senior roles.
