Job Description Overview We are seeking a Process/Chemical Engineer Energy - Remote. This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office. Your role AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear is the subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis focused on serving government and commercial clients within the Nuclear sector in the United States. We are focused on being recognized as a premier nuclear solutions company in the United States, delivering engineering, operations, and project management services. Serves both legacy and new build nuclear clients who are designing, building, upgrading, operating and maintaining nuclear power generation and fuel cycle assets. We are a growing business, building on the foundation of our US government fuel cycle business, our international position as an Original Equipment Manufactor (OEM) and nuclear reactor technology provider, and our world-wide nuclear new build and legacy nuclear fleet maintenance experience. Executes Small Modular Reactor and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects. Develops and conceptualizes system architecture, flow diagrams, and piping/instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for nuclear facilities, auxiliary systems, or fuel cycle models. Performs rigorous evaluations to ensure that systems, structures and components maintain chemical safety, criticality controls, radiation shielding, and defense-in-depth principles under normal and off-normal conditions, including accident scenarios. Ensures that all engineering designs align with local, state, and federal standards, including DOE or NRC regulations. Selects, tests, and specifies mechanical components, valves, and vessels to ensure they withstand highly regulated and hazardous environments. Evaluates test or validation data to improve the efficiency of existing nuclear facilities. Develops key design deliverables such as Process drawings, Process Flow Diagrams and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams/Engineering Flow Diagrams.
